We wouldn't have a ball without musicians who play for dancers, so 'Roots in Tune' decided to facilitate the rehearsals for 'The Roots in Tune Ensemble', a collective of musicians with backgrounds and cultures from al around the world who currently live in Ireland, including a steady base of Irish musicians.
When the ensemble is asked to play at an event, the event turns into a real multicultural fest with traditional and new composed trad/folk music, representing the different cultures of the members.
The ensemble is not a professional band but a group of friends with various musical skill levels, who simply enjoy to meet up and play music for an audience and dancers. The ensemble members tend to come and go, as many are often temporary based in Ireland, but the joy and the love for the music is passed on from one another, resulting in a steady and interesting repertoire for the ensemble to share.
Sometimes live music might be preceded by a brief explanation of the dances or even by a proper workshop, sometimes not... in that case, just come along, dance and enjoy the beauty of live music!
